Timeless like the Chanel® suit or blue jeans.  Lightweight, warm and elegant to wear on the slopes or apres ski.  Looks equally at home with a tweed suit or faded blue jeans.   Make it in a weekend.

Joybilee Garnet French Angora Rabbit

 

Yarn:  65 grams of sport weight 100% angora or 60/40 angora silk handspun yarn

 

5 mm – 16 inch circular needle

5mm  dpn needles (4)

Marker

Darning needle

 

Gauge:  4 st. per inch

 

CO 68 plus 1 st., join in a round, being careful not to twist.

 

Round 1: *K2, P2* 17 times.  Place marker.  K2T (last stitch of first round , knit together with 1st stitch of new round)  Gap closed.

 

Rnd 2: K1, P2, *K2, P2* 16 times.  Slip marker.(68 stitches)

Rnd 3;  *K2, P2* 17 times. Slip marker at the end of each round. 


Continue working K2, P2 ribbing until work measures 2 inches.

 



Stockinette:

Next round:  K1, M1, K33, M1, K34 (70 st.)

Next round: Knit

Continue working in stockinette until work measures 9 inches from Cast on edge.

 

Decreases:

1st decrease round: *K8, K2T* 7 times. (63 stitches remain)

2nd decrease round:  Knit

3rd decrease round:  *K7, K2T* 7 times (56 stitches remain)

4th decrease round:  Knit

5th decrease round:  *K6, K2T* 7 times (49 stitches remain)

6th decrease round:  Knit

7th decrease round:  *K5, K2T* 7 times (42 stitches remain)

8th decrease round:  Knit

9th decrease round:  *K4, K2T* 7 times (35 stitches remain)

10th round:  Knit

11th round:  *K3, K2T* (28 stitches remain)

12th round:  Knit

13th round switch to dpn needles.  *K2, K2T* 7 times (21 stitches remain)

14th round:  Knit

15th round:  *K1, K2T* (14 stitches remain)

16th round:  *K2T* until only 6 stitches remain.

 

Organize stitches on 2 dpn needles and close top of hat with kitchener stitch.
